Financial Aid
Your decision to attend MarJón should be based on your interest in our courses and not in your ability to meet all school costs. MarJón believes that no student should be denied the opportunity to pursue his or her career interests because of the lack of financial resources. To assist you in meeting your education expenses, MarJón participates in several financial assistant programs. In many cases, our financial aid office awards qualified students a financial aid “package”. Packaging includes several types of financial programs and we will provide assistance in completing your financial aid forms during your visit to MarJón.

Federal Programs
Pell Grants - The Pell Grant is for students who have not completed a bachelor’s degree. Eligibility for this grant is determined by the Federal government based upon the information provided on the FAFSA. In approximately 3 – 5 days MarJόn will receive an ISIR.
Direct Subsidized Loans - Direct Subsidized Loans are for students with financial need. MarJon School of Beauty will review the results of your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and determine the amount you can borrow. You are not charged interest while you’re in school at least half-time and during grace periods and deferment periods.
Direct Unsubsidized Loans - You are not required to demonstrate financial need to receive a Direct Unsubsidized Loan. Like subsidized loans, MarJon School of Beauty will determine the amount you can borrow. Interest accrues (accumulates) on an unsubsidized loan from the time it’s first paid out. You can pay the interest while you are in school and during grace periods and deferment or forbearance periods, or you can allow it to accrue and be capitalized (that is, added to the principal amount of your loan). If you choose not to pay the interest as it accrues, this will increase the total amount you have to repay because you will be charged interest on a higher principal amount.
Federal Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) - This is a program of loans for parents of dependent undergraduate students who may borrow up to the yearly cost of attendance minus any expected financial aid. PLUS borrowers must begin repayment within sixty days. A borrower does not have to show need but may have to undergo a credit analysis.
